What is PayForIt™?

PayForIt was developed through a strategic UK cross-mobile network operator initiative to promote a safe and trustworthy environment under which mobile phone users may purchase goods and services from the mobile internet and charge to their mobile phone. It aims to improve the consumer experience for one-time and subscription based services by introducing a safe, transparent and unified approach to mobile purchases.

The PayForIt scheme is governed by a strict set of rules known as ‘The Trusted Mobile Payment Framework’ which outlines how participants: merchants, accredited payment intermediaries and operators, co-operate to perform.

Under the scheme, mobile internet billing requests are no longer handled by individual mobile service providers, but by a trusted party, known as an ‘Accredited Payment Intermediary’. Wapbill.net has integrated the PayForIt functionality into its wap billing platform.
